Friend Play Time

Lexi and her friend NJ got a little play time today. They were most interested in touching each other's faces. NJ, the older of the two by about a month, showed Lexi how you can gently reach out and touch another person. Lexi got the reach out and touch part, she just might have missed out on the gentle part. As long as they are happy and not hurting each other, that's okay, right? Neither seemed to mind, and they loved having the opportunity to interact. They have been in the same room together on several occasions, but this actually was the first time Lexi wasn't quarantined and neither one was sick!

Cubs' Fan in the Making

Lexi got to go to her first major league baseball game tonight. Although it wasn't Wrigley field, she still got to see her favorite team in action (she has no say so at this point regarding who is her favorite team, so Dad nicely chose the Cubs for her). She did pretty well at the game and was very intrigued by all the screaming and clapping people. Dad was not so intrigued with the Cubs' performance, but having Lexi there to distract him helped ease the pain.

Minnesota Mischief

We had a great time in Minnesota. On Saturday, Suzanne and I loaded both girls into the car and went to the outlet mall and bought some cute outfits. Then, we just relaxed and enjoyed each other's company and playing with each other's babies.

The highlight of the weekend came when Lexi was left by herself in the living room. I was in the kitchen cleaning up (don't freak out, it's an open floor plan, so I was essentially in the same room), and all of a sudden I heard all this rustling noise. So, I went to investigate, and she had pulled Reese's tummy time mat completely on top of her and placed the boppy around her belly to play with the frog. She was just laughing when caught red-handed and so proud of herself for being able to get into trouble. I guess I'm going to have to be a little more careful about going into even just another part of the same room as Lexi, as she is quickly starting to get into trouble!

Then, Sunday morning, we went to another college friend Jessie's house to see her, her husband, and her little girl, Maya. Jessie was a little nervous to see how Maya would respond to a baby, as they will be welcoming their second soon. Maya did great, though, bringing toys to Lexi and wanting the baby to go everywhere she did, so we think Maya will do just great with a new baby.

Our flight back proved as easy as the one on the way there. Lexi promptly fell asleep before take off. Sleep was threatened for a little while when the lady in front of her tried to recline her seat. I think she thought maybe on the 18th try she would succeed and win the battle against the plastic car seat, but she lost, and Lexi miraculously slept through all the attempts. She didn't wake up until after we were on the ground. Very successful first plane ride!
