We flew to California for the weekend to attend Laura's cousin's wedding in Malibu. The wedding was absolutely breathtaking. It was at a golf course in Malibu and was absolutely gorgeous. The kids did pretty well at the wedding, except when Conner hit his head, and Laura had to go sprinting out of the vicinity of the ceremony to keep his screams from the rest of the people. During the reception, Conner enjoyed running up and down the manicured lawn the entire night. We also got to hang out with extended family, which was great.
We wish we could say the same for the plan ride on the way to California. We first got to the parking lot and went to load onto the shuttle to go to the airport. We realized Conner had completely blown out his diaper. He got a quick diaper change on the shuttle and we were able to grab an extra pair of shorts from his bag before checking it.
We then checked in, and they asked for Conner's birth certificate. In all the packing we do for the four of us, we had not remembered it, so they said he was not allowed on the flight with us. We asked if there were any other options, and they said they needed some sort of legal document in order to allow him on the flight with us without a seat. We finally convinced them that they could look at our blog, as Conner's birthdate is listed on there. They finally agreed, so he got to go to California with us!
We finally got on the flight, and all was going okay. The kids were a little squirmy, but being pretty good. We figured we might as well change Lexi, so she didn't end up with a blow out as well. I had her just stand in her seat, since those bathrooms are so tiny. As soon as her diaper came off and before I could get the next one on, she managed to pee all over her pants and seat. We quickly cleaned up the seat, took off her pants, and she rode the rest of the way with just a diaper on.
After a very long and eventful flight, we arrived in California and had a great time at the wedding. Well worth even that flight!!
