We spent the weekend at Grandma and Grandpa's cabin on the Mississippi. The kids had a blast. We got in some good Bunch family time, and then the Carslakes joined us for the second night. The kids loved fishing, pontoon boat riding on the Mississippi, feeding the dog, spending time with cousins, Grandparents, and Aunts and Uncles, and riding toys and running around the yard. Luckily, we had great weather which resulted in no cabin fever!

Flower Girl Dresses
Lexi and Erika went flower girl dress shopping over the weekend. Lexi had such a blast with her first girl's day out and trying on all the pretty dresses. She kept asking for more and running between the dressing room and the pedestal in front of the mirror. I think she is going to be slightly excited to be a flower girl, as she loved all the twirling and fancy dresses!! We're all getting excited for Jason and Erika's wedding!

Big Boy Bed
We recently transitioned Conner from his crib to his big boy bed. He is so addicted to his giraffe and only gets it at bed time that we were hoping that meant it would be an easy transition where he was happy to remain in bed and not get out. So far, so good. We haven't even had to put up any side rails, as he doesn't seem to move a lot at night (although we have lined the floor with pillows like most neurotic parents). He also likes the new routine of reading a book and saying prayers, instead of just being dumped in a crib.
In the week or so since his transition, we have only had him wake up once during the night crying. I listened for a while, and then went in there, as I didn't want him to be scared in his big room. Here's how it went:
Me: Conner, what's the matter?
Conner: Wa-wa (water)
Me: You need some water? Ok, mommy get you a little water, and then you need to go back to bed and sleep.
Conner: Aye (yes)
I went and got him water, he took a sip, and then responded, "Nigh-nigh", lay down, and went back to sleep.
I'll take up in the middle of the night if it is that easy!
