Alexis had her birthday party today at Menchie's Frozen yogurt with a Frozen theme. It's the first time she has ever selected the theme for her birthday, and we thought it would be cute with the frozen theme. The place did everything from pizza to frozen yogurt to cupcakes to games to party favors. So, it was a really different party than what we are used to.
However, I couldn't quite help myself and had to create a game of make your own Olaf. The kids wrapped each other in toilet paper and then I had created buttons, noses, eyes, and Olaf hair. They had a blast doing that. We ate pizza, had frozen yogurt (Conner a little too much since I think he piled every candy they had into the bowl), and sang happy birthday. It was a great party, and Alexis had a smile on her face the entire time!

Doctors, Doctors, and more Doctors
We started today at the first doctor appointment, Alexis's ENT. He looked in both her ears and said he didn't really see much fluid in there. He said he did see a little puss in her one ear, but guessed that was from her cold, and not from the lake water. He said as preventative to put drops in her ears for a couple days. However, he said that we were lucky we were in such pristine water, and that she should be fine. He did say he didn't recommend doing that again, though. I guess we dodged a bullet this time.
Alexis also had her 7-year-old check up with her Pediatrician. She assessed Alexis and said that we are doing everything we can for her. Although we can't really say she is in good health, we concluded she is doing fantastic for what she is going through right now. At the end, she asked for a hug and said she was excited we had gotten through this year. I wanted to scream how excited I was that we found her and that she has helped us get through so much. She truly is simply amazing!
Finally, Alexis had her next chemo treatment today. Her counts were good and looked great. So, she got her next round of Vincristine as well as her oral 6MP and Methotrexate. When Brittany went to access her, she said she didn't want to sit on my lap. Instead, she sat on the bench by herself, pulled up her shirt and wasn't phased at all by the access. We then saw her Oncologist who said sounds like things are going fine. Finally, the nurses sang happy birthday to Alexis and gave her a balloon and present. They are so good to her there!
So, a long day with nothing buy doctors, but all good reports. Good to have an uplifting doctor day, esp compared to a year ago! Needless to say, by the end of the day, Alexis was exhausted.
