Baseball Prodigy
Dad has always hoped that the boys would follow in his love of baseball, but hasn't pushed it. Well, he now has a little baseball prodigy under his wing. Conner is loving his first year of real baseball. He had his first game Saturday and got two good hits and more importantly had a blast. His preschool teacher even came to watch him!

Game Time
Alexis does have to spend another night in the hospital. Overnight, she finally spiked that temp we were waiting for, so that bought at least one more night. Otherwise, she is looking a lot better and had a really fun day of games.
Mom played a little in the monrkng, but then her doctor came in who was really off. That gave her the ability to sit down and play uno with Alexis. They played 4 games and Lexi won every game (not luck!). What an amazing doctor to take that time!
Then, her camp counselor from last year happened to be volunteering this afternoon. So, she came in and played with Alexis for about an hour. They painted bird houses together and played uno, jenga, and trouble. She had a blast and it was so great to see her...brought a huge smile to Alexis's face.
We finished the night by ordering pizza and having a family pizza party. We figured it would give us a little time together instead of being split.
Decent day at the hospital and hoping we get to go home tomorrow...

Hospital Time
Alexis has had pretty pale skin for about a week and a half and been pretty tired. The last couple days she ask said she has a headache. We were waiting for the final sign of a temp to indicated that her counts were low and we should take her in. The fever never really came, but it had gone on long enough that we decided to drive back from Iowa and take her in to get her counts tested.
It was a good thing we did. Her red blood count was at 4. To put that in perspective, they normally transfuse when it gets really low at 7. Most adults would be unconscious with a count of 4. So, she was a trooper to still be moving around like she was with minimal complaints. As a result of this, they did check her into the hospital. She was given 2 units of blood, and that perked her up a ton. Long day/night but really worth it getting her to the right place and following those instincts. Now we will see how long our stay is.

May Day
Mom was still in Texas but had prepped the May Day baskets with the kids earlier in the week. So, Dad got the fun of driving around to friends houses and delivering the baskets. Not certain if Dad or the kids had more fun!
