Trampoline Time!

At the indoor playground, Lexi spent the majority of her time on a variety of slides of different shapes & heights. However, she kept pointing to the trampolines in the middle of the room, so we gave her the opportunity to go on one of those for the first time. They had strict rules that only one person could be in the trampoline at a time, and it had to be completely enclosed, so we didn't think Lexi would want any part of it once she knew those were the rules. We could not have been more wrong, as she absolutely loved it, running around and laughing for what seemed like hours.

Playground Testers

The day after Mother's Day, we still had company in town, so Brian took the day off of work, and we had another fun day with the kids. We knew the weather was questionable for Monday, so we strategically planned an outdoor zoo day for Sunday, and an indoor children's museum day on Monday. However, when we got to the children's museum, we had our version of the Griswold Wally World experience when we discovered it was closed for the only day all year due to school field trips. What a bummer!

It threw us for a loop and caused some extra driving and a few extra headaches, but we reached out to our network of local experts and discovered an indoor playground to go to instead. There is a playground manufacturer in town who has a showroom of sorts where you can pay a couple bucks to play in a huge indoor playground showcasing their newest playground offerings. From swings, to slides, to trampolines, to basketball courts, the playground had it all, and on a random Monday in May, we pretty much had the entire place to ourselves! Aside from our guests nearly getting arrested (the manager was on the phone when they arrived, so they had planned to pay at the end), and Lexi deciding to go down a huge twisty tunnel slide head first, the day turned out to be a huge success.

Happy (Grand)Mother's Day!

Lexi also was fortunate enough to see her Grandma Deb on Mother's Day. With Deb's nephew Travis & Krissy coming to town, and with it being Mother's Day weekend, she came down Friday and went home Sunday, overlapping Trav & Krissy's visit by about 24hrs.

We hung out together Friday night... she babysat Lexi, Conner, and Lincoln by herself on Saturday night so we could have some adult time with our cousins... and she stayed around for part of the day on Sunday. And of course, rather than looking to be pampered herself on Mother's Day, she spent the morning feeding the kids breakfast, as well as taking Lexi & Lincoln on a long walk in the double stroller. Lexi always has a blast with her 2 wonderful grandmothers, and getting some special grandmother time on Mother's Day was a big bonus for her.

Happy Mother's Day!

We had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend. The forecast called for some rain, but it turned out to be beautiful sunshine all weekend, with the temps even hitting 90 degrees at one point. We took full advantage by hitting the zoo on Mother's Day afternoon, and even though it was an unoriginal idea and very crowded, we had a great time.

We also had some fun visitors in town Saturday through Tuesday. Brian's cousin Travis & wife Krissy, along with their son Lincoln, made the trek from SW Minnesota for the weekend. It was fun to have visitors, fun to watch Lexi interact with another kiddo close to her age, and fun to enjoy some spring activities like parks, the zoo, and grillouts over the weekend!
