Fish

Grandma Phyllis helped me take the kids to the pool at the YMCA. They have a nice kid's pool, so Conner got to go for his first swim. He mostly sat with Grandma, but we did put him in the water for a little bit to splash around. The verdict is still out on whether he's gong to be a fish like his sister.

Lexi on the other hand enjoyed getting back into the water, since it has been a while since summer. She took many trips down the slide and loved it. Mom wasn't so excited, as I would stand at the front to make certain she didn't get hurt. Lexi interpreted this as a game of getting her, and tried to back up every time, which sent her toppling down the stairs twice. Luckily, I was able to catch her both times, but that did confirm that I will not be taking her and Conner to the pool by myself this summer.

Dancing Away

We went to a dance class at the Children's Museum. They offer a free class for preschoolers, where they play music and let the children dance.

Lexi had a blast at the class. I let her dance and go wherever she wanted, which suited her beautifully! She clapped and bounced and even followed instructions to go in a circle.

Lexi was really good at following the instructions the teacher gave and waiting her turn, which was nice to see. When they had to get scarves to dance with, she went over with the rest of the kids, got one out and when it was time to put it back, did the same. You don't always get to see your kid in a class setting, so it was
nice to see that she does listen.

Conner turns 6 months

Conner turned 6 months today. So, we dressed him up and took him to the photographer. Then, we came home and had our own little photo shoot with Grandpa Steve's mirror from when he was a child.

Jack

Laura, Lexi, and Conner went to the Quad Cities this week, since Lexi was on spring break from preschool. We ended up spending a lot of time with the cousins, and Jack and Lexi were a hoot.

From the start, they were playing together all the time, and Jack repeatedly said, "I ike Exi." They pretty much followed each other around, playing, laughing, and having a good time. It was so fun to see.

Jack decided he
liked Lexi so much that he wanted to look like her, so picked up her bow and made us put it in his hair. All day, the bow kept falling out, and he would ask for it to be put in. I don't think Alisa and Scobie were too happy when we returned him at the end of the day with the pink bow still in his hair!

March Madness

The NCAA tourney kicked off this weekend, and nobody in our household seems more fired up about it than Conner. He quickly embraced the concept of filling out a bracket, first thinking about the pairings for little awhile, and then getting about the business of filling in his bracket. He sometimes complains about not being familiar enough with the West Coast teams which tip off past his bedtime throughout the season, but otherwise seems to be digging his very first March Madness!
