Although we have our own superhero in our house, we took the opportunity to go see some other superhero at the Mavel Comic Live production. Conner and Gavin were in wondered amazement as Spiderman dropped from the ceiling on web strings, and hulk flipped in the air on his dirt bike, and the fought the villains. Alexis enjoyed it for a while, but then promptly fell asleep, which we were fine with as there were strobe lights, which can induce seizures, so we kept covering her eyes anyway. It was a blast.
Afterward, Conner asked, "Mom, were those superheros real?" Since I promised never to lie to the kids, I responded, "No, they were just dressed up like the characters," which was met by a very sad looking face. We then had a big discussion on how they know their lines and what a play was. After several questions and thinking, he promptly said, "Well, at least I know Mickey and Cinderella are real." Since it wasn't a question, I just left it at that.
What a great day and amazing acrobatics.

Birthday Ideas
Brian asked the kids this year what they should get mom for her birthday. These were their ideas:
Lexi
Lexi
-flowers
-game
-dinner w friend
-go shopping
-birthday cake
-go outside and play
-draw on the easel
-eat chicken, tomatoes & red peppers
Conner
-trip to see grandma Phyllis
-blow up balloons and watch Rose bowl
-special lunch and dinner
-clean the kitchen
-take her to see Christmas lights
-go to the magic house
-get make up at special lifetime place
Gavin
-birdcage
-chocolate chips
-spaghetti
Lexi and Gavin were pretty spot on, Gavin, well, not certain where his mind ever is! I'm guessing his dream was to lock me up in a birdcage, so he could eat all the chocolate and spaghetti he wanted! It was a great birthday. I got a balloon from Conner, cake from Lexi, spaghetti noodles from Gavin and clothes and a book from Brian. The kids also tried (pretty successfully) not to fight all day, so it was a great birthday!
