Mom took a 4-day weekend to visit some friends in Minneapolis this weekend, so Dad is flying solo with the kids. Well, actually, Grandpa & Grandma came down to watch the kids Thurs & Fri, then Brian joined the fray and all 3 of us have spent for the weekend with the kids.
Laura might regret the timing of her trip, though, as Lexi suddenly has gone into imitation mode this weekend. She's started crossing her arms like Dad, and she's even started chewing on straws like Grandpa. We thought the straws were out of her reach, but all of a sudden she got on her tip toes, snatched one, and started walking around with it in her mouth. Guess this is more proof kids are impressionable at a young age & we better watch what we do and say these days!
Fortunately this weekend also has brought the closest thing we've seen to good health and normalcy in the household in quite awhile. Three weeks ago was ear surgery time in the hospital for Lexi, two weeks ago was 6 days of hospitalization with HMV for Lexi, and last weekend we had to cancel our Super Bowl party when the kids (and Dad) got the flu. We can't claim a perfectly clean bill of health this weekend, but at least it's the closest we've seen in quite awhile and we're getting closer to Spring!
