Mother's Day Turned Sour

I knew this wasn't going to be the best Mother's Day, since we were traveling back from Arizona, and the total travel time was somewhere around 7 hours. However, waking up at 5:30 am and puking, and then finding out Lexi had puked in the middle of the night as well made it turn sour even more quickly. Both of us ended up with the flu, and neither of us were doing great.

So, we did the dumb thing and got on the plane anyway. I figured it was going to be a horrible day...might as well make it doubly awful and get back to our beds, so we could rest there. On the way to the airport, Lexi puked again, which made me question if we were making the right decision, but I figured still best to get home. So, we ventured on the flight. She slept for a good bit of the first 3 1/2 hour flight. However, she had also had diarrhea, so she didn't smell the best. We figured better to let her sleep, which unfortunately meant letting the people around us suffer. When she woke up, we changed her. We changed her and her outfit again about a 1/2 hour later and this continued. In the end, we made it back to Saint Louis and to our familiar beds. In the spirit of our little girl, she did absolutely awesome traveling sick and didn't really cry the whole time. Once again, I was a proud Mom for having such a tough little girl who even had the people on the parking shuttle laughing at her antics. Having her made this day worth every bit of it!
