We recently have found out that Lexi needs several patches. For starters, her left eye is lazy, so the optometrist wanted us to try putting a patch on her right eye to try and strengthen the left. She only has to wear the patch for 3-4 hours a day and is quite the trooper with it. She always has such a good attitude about all her medical endeavors.
We also recently saw a new Otolaryngologist to assess Lexi's ears. He determined there are holes in both of her ears and they are the entire area that should be covering both of her ear drums. He does not think it is from tubes but some really bad infection or some other cause. He wants to watch her closely and in a year or so, we will do surgery to try and rectify the holes and patch them. He hopes this will help with her hearing difficulty and help her in general. It will be an extensive surgery, so we are not looking forward to that, but are the hopefully positive results.
Good thing they have patches to help our little girl!
