The snow this Christmas was powdery & not really ideal for throwing snowballs or building snowmen, but that didn't stop Dad from carving out a few blocks of snow & ice to form the foundation of the kids' very first snowman. Not surprisingly, Lexi and Conner loved the experience. Conner especially loved his new frosty little friend, waving to him from Grandpa & Grandma's picture window, and saying "bye, snowman" before sledding down the hill each time... and saying "hi, snowman" when he returned to the top of the hill once again.

Takin' Care of Santa & Rudolph
Our kids are pretty young to understand many rituals, but one ritual they've got nailed is what to do on Christmas Eve to ensure Santa and his Reindeer are taken care of... and thus ensure the presents they're carrying arrive under the tree as expected.

Fun in the Snow
We headed back home for the holidays, and the Quad-Cities got about 6" of snow dumped on it the first day we were back. It was unfortunate for family travel plans (both Laura's brother and Brian's brother were delayed a full day due to weather), but all was forgiven for Conner & Lexi when it was time to go outside and play in the white stuff. Conner especially loved the sledding experience. After spending a solid hour outside and being told it was time to go home, he begged for "one more time, one more time." We acquiesced a time or two, but still got tears and a near temper tantrum when we went home he was having so much fun.
