I took the opportunity to go out and find a fellow and talked a little about her numbers tripling both of the last two days showing a good upward trend as well as the germs she was being exposed to in the hospital. Well, apparently it paid off with her voicing that yo the attending who ultimately gave the fellow the power to make the call. We are going home!!! All boys in our house were a little excited to have her back.

Home Focus
Alexis has had her favorite outpatient nurse the last two days who got herself put on inpatient. So nice to have someone you are so comfortable with. However, she came in with the bad news that Alexis's ANC was just 101, and we were probably staying until her counts got to 500. She checked with the attending who confirmed she would be staying.

Avoiding Germs
We were informed in the morning that Alexis would be getting a roommate since the floor was so packed. A girl was coming in for routine and scheduled chemo. We were okay with this until she started hacking up a lung every few minutes.
We quickly talked to the charge nurse to see if it was really safe to have her in the same room given Alexis has no immunity (Her ANC did come up to 38, but still is nothing). They did a nose swab, and the girl did have a virus. Much to the credit of the staff, they got her out of the room quickly.

Hospital Again
Alexis landed herself in the hospital again. She came to snuggle with me in bed this morning and felt a little hot. I took her temp, and it was 100.2, so not 101 that automatically means we go. I took a shower and got the boys up and then took the temp again, and it was 100.5. So, I called oncology, and they said to come in.
Every single one of our friends has sick kids right now, so couldn't risk dropping the boys off anywhere. So, they had to come with us. By time we got there, her temp was 102. After getting blood results back and realizing her ANC was 18 with one lonely neutrophil in her body, they said we would be staying. Her immune system has no ability to fight.
The boys did pretty well being there for 7 hours before Brian could get off work, but a long day for all!

Special Time
Since the kids have been quarantined in the house for a while now, we decided to do something special today. Brian took the boys to see Kung Foo Panda 3, and they had a blast.
We didn't want Alexis to feel bad since she couldn't go out of the house, so her and mon had special spa time with bubble foot bath and nail painting. Alexis even got to paint mom's toenails, which she loved, but probably needs practice doing before she does anyone else's!
