While preparing for her birthday, we talked a lot about her turning three. She would get very excited and try to hold up her fingers. Although she never holds up the right number, she gets the concept of showing hold old she is and is really excited about it.
Then, Lexi had a big party with family and friends. She had several little friends come and did a nice job sharing her toys.
First thing we did was make fairy wings for all the kids. They had a good time decorating them, but if any one is looking for advice, definitely skip the glitter pens!
Lexi decorated, undecorated, and redecorated her wings. Mom had to walk away, as Lexi had definite, different opinions on how to decorate than mom did.
We opened presents and then had birthday cake, which Lexi ate both her piece and Grandma Phyllis's.
Lexi's hit gift (by everyone) was Grandma Deb's horse, cowgirl boots, and hat that Lexi got. She was all over them.
The kids did a little playing outside, especially since Lexi got a new hand-me-down slide from her cousins. However, it was extremely hot, and even they didn't last too long!
We finished the night with a few small fireworks. For the first time, Lexi got to stay up late enough to enjoy the final festivities.
