Botanical Garden

We spent a few hours at the Missouri Botanical Garden today. We walked around and took in all the beautiful scenery. We also took the opportunity for some photo opps...enjoy!

Bob, Bob, Bob, Bob

Maybe we're getting a little over anxious to witness milestones since Lexi hasn't crawled or walked yet. However, whatever the reason, we have always been really excited for Lexi to meet Brian's cousin Bob, as Lexi continuously says, "Bob, Bob, Bob, Bob" as her only word, as you can see in the video.

He came down for a quick visit to meet Lexi and participate in a fantasy football draft, and this morning at breakfast she said, "Bob, Bob, Bob" with him sitting there. Since she correctly identified Bob, and repeatedly addressed him as Bob this morning, we are confidently declaring that as her first word.

Off the Bottle & Loving It

We haven't come through with any blog postings this past week after ripping off three in a row the previous weekend, but all is still well in the Bunch household. Lexi's ear surgery last Monday truly was a non-event, as Lexi was fine that afternoon and has showed little if any ill effects since getting tubes put in her ears. She absolutely hated getting drops in her ears twice a day afterwards, but if that's the worst that comes of the surgery, we'll take it.

In addition to having her ear surgery behind her, Lexi also got some good news while visiting her eating specialist yesterday. After giving Lexi a health check-up and engaging in some Q&A with Mom, Dr Brady said Lexi appears to have put her eating issues behind her, so much so that she doesn't want to see Lexi again! Well actually, as adorable as Lexi is, I'm confident Dr Brady wants to see her again socially, but she doesn't need to see her again for eating issue reasons. Lexi has done well with her solids from the time they were first introduced, so it appears her eating disorder was confined to her issues with the bottle. Guess adults aren't the only ones who stand to benefit from stopping a liquid diet and getting off the bottle.

Armed with good news and good health, Lexi has been in good spirits and very fun to be around this past week. Here's a short video clip of Lexi taken while Dad was working on a little stand up comedy in the living room. I would describe the routine as a cross between George Carlin and Richard Pryor, and although some would question whether it was age appropriate for Lexi, you can see that she just loved it.
