Lexi has started to make some progress on her speech. Her favorite word these days is "hi." She mostly uses this appropriately when we see people we know and greet them or when I let her call her grandparents on the phone. However, a couple times, she has decided to reach out and grab a stranger walking past us and say hi. Although we are excited about the words, we could do without those last instances.
Lexi pretty consistently says:
hi
bye
baby
please
mama
open
ball
book
We are hoping this list just continues to grow. In terms of her development, we just met with our school district's OT, PT, speech pathologist, and several other specialist to see what services Lexi will get through the school district at 3. They are very extensive in their assessment and will even visit her in her current preschool. Early indication is that she will go to their preschool next year to receive services integrated into the classroom, which we are very excited about. The more help she can get, the more we hope she catches up.
