We then went to Alexis's class. She got a phenomenal teacher as well (have I mentioned how much I love this school!?!?!). Her teacher started with a huge hug. Alexis knew her from last year as she had her for a team building activity once a month. This teacher also used to be a counselor at a deaf school, so she is very familiar with language and hearing issues, which is so great. We had a very nice talk, and I know she is going to have a fabulous year!

Meet the Teacher
The kids had meet the teacher tonight. We started with Conner who got the teacher he wanted. She had done his kindergarten screening and he instantly fell in love with the the blond. He also got his friend Asher in his class, with whom he played baseball and did gymnastics. He was so excited going around the classroom and seeing everything. I don't think we are going to have any transition issues.

Last intrathecal
Alexis had her chemo appointment today. Mom couldn't resist going, as it was Alexis's last intrathecal chemo where she gets put under and chemo placed in her spine. So, mom, dad, and Alexis took off for the hospital.
When we got there, a wheelchair was found for mom, and Alexis immediately took over pushing duty. She thought it was a blast to have mom be the patient and to get to steer the big chair through the halls. Mom get a little pathetic and by the end of the day really tired, but well worth it!
Alexis did great getting accessed. She doesn't even react anymore...acts more bored and disinterested than anything! Her counts came back low, but not super low. Her white count was 1.3 and hemoglobin at 8, but high enough to go back up on chemo. So, they raised her amounts. Mom and dad will be watching her closely, with low counts and increased chemo and never starting school off with a bang, we will see how she does.
We then headed down to the APC (amblagatory procedure center) where Alexis was greeted with a birthday present from her favorite nurse. She then was put under for what we hope is the last time for spinal chemo. She did great, but a little tired afterward. So, she got to ride on moms good leg in the wheelchair out of the hospital. No complaints from mom. Getting snuggles with an amazingly strong little girl that has gone through countless chemo treatments and finally reaching the last intrathecal was such an amazing moment!

Friends time
Since mom isn't really allowed out of the house and is in a bed or chair most of the time, our friends have really stepped up to help out. The kids have been taken to Purina Farms and Transportaion Museum. They have had numerous play dates and people bringing food and cookies. We have all been a little spoiled by wonderful friends. So glad the kids can get out a little, so we don't all go stir crazy in this house together! We have such amazing friends!

Lemonade Stand
In an effort to entertain the kids, we decided to have a lemonade stand. The first day we spent decorating signs for the lemonade stand. The next day we spent some time making brownies for it and finally it was the weekend and time for the stand. The kids were super excited about it. We then discussed who we wanted to donate the money to. The kids were split between Pedal the Cause that gives money back to children's hospital and Camp Rainbow that they all got to enjoy the last time at the hospital, so we decided we would split the money 50/50.
Sunday came and we held our lemonade stand. The kids were excited to get it all set up. They hung their signs and got cups and the brownies organized. We had a few neighbors stop to buy some, but we also had some really awesome friends come by and donated a lot along with Alexis's 1st grade teacher. Although we only had around 10 customers, we had very generous people and ended up donating $75 to each of the charities for a total of $150. The kids had a blast, we got to donate to very worthy causes and they were entertained for a few days. Fun first lemonade stand!
