Just a Walk in the Park

We headed to Conner's soccer game today, and on the way got notification that it was cancelled. Since we had already loaded all the kids in the car, we decided to stop at a park and let them play. We soon found out the cancellation of the game was validated with some of the slides having an inch of standing water in it. So, instead, we took a little walk around the park. At least a little break from our house arrest. Nice to have a weekend that was a walk in the park with no surprises.

Jumping craze

Rainy day and sissy in school? Meant the boys got a morning with mom, and Conner has been begging to go to the jumping place. So, we headed out for toddler time. Both boys had a blast, and Conner got several praises from other moms about his sharing skills. So, a great morning!

Special Friend

Alexis headed to the hospital for her next round of chemotherapy. We had one of our regular nurses, Brittany, today. I think that helped, as Alexis really enjoyed pushing the syringes the last time with her. She got so distracted with that, that we did the whole port access with limited tears.

Alexis also called her doctor by her name. She has been calling her Stacey, and today actually pronounced her name. Her doctor was so excited about this. She also had a little attitude, and we had three different people say, "well, she must be feeling really well."

We ended the hospital day by incorporating a special visit. Alexis told our nurse that we were going to see Emma. The nurse asked, "who's Emma?". Alexis promptly responded, "she's my friend. She doesn't have any hair like I don't have." Alexis's old roommate, Emma, was inpatient. So, we stopped by Emma's room and chatted for a bit with Alexis's special friend. Nice for her to know there are other kids going through similar things. She's such a sweet girl and are do thankful that Alexis has this special friend.

Camera Man

Conner received a camera from the neighbors across the street for his birthday. We went to Lone Elk Park this morning, and Conner brought his camera. We didn't get very far very fast with our little photographer in tow. He just might have Mom's love for photography (or maybe likes the digital age?).

Dance Party

Alexis requested a dance party so she could show off her dance moves she's been learning. So, we turned up the music and had a family dance party. Although Alexis and Conner have the standard sibling rivalry, they also love each other so much. Love impromptu moments like this one where we can let loose and get silly! We had a great, relaxing weekend as a family with no major news!
