So, we knew Alexis was probably going to be all over the board, and she was, but she also enjoyed being the attention. They asked her all sorts of questions, and she loved giving answers. When they said they were going to talk to mom and dad now, she responded, "no." She wasn't ready to give up that attention.
As part of the process, they ask a lot of questions to try and find the best gift for that child's interests. Here's how that portion went:
First they asked if she could be anyone what would she be, and she responded, "a cat."
If she could go anywhere? "McDonalds...or the hospital."
If she could meet anyone? "Mom and Dad."
If she could have anything? A game
So, they need to make her into a cat that goes to the hospital to meet mom and dad and play games. At least we know she doesn't hate hospital time (she probably likes the one on one attention and nightly snuggy time), but don't want that as the wish. Finally they got out of her that she likes the beach and Disney characters. So, we are headed to Florida. We will be staying at Make-A-Wish's facilities and will have access to tickets for Disney, Universal, Sea World, and going to the beach. Should be a great trip! At the end of the day, we were just happy we didn't end up at the hospital for the wish!
