Lexi started preschool today. She was very excited about her new backpack, and I think I could have gotten her to do anything with that bag on! That, and Dad dressed her and put on her shoes to join us on the occasion, which made Lexi happy.
She met all her new friends and her new teacher, Ms. Natalie. The teachers said she did great and commented how "independent" she is. That came as no surprise to mom, but I was happy not to have the screaming child as I left.
When we left at the end of the morning, we almost had a melt down, as Lexi wanted to stay, but I convinced her that we would return tomorrow, so that was good enough. She is going to be excited to go 4 days a week this year, I think!
We spent some time with the Carslake cousins this morning at the library. They had an event with story readings, crafts, and a petting zoo. Mallory took Lexi under her care, holding her hand and taking her around. I was tempted to 
take Mallory home with me, as Lexi listens a lot better to her! Laini and Lexi had a great time during story time, but Lexi favorite was the petting zoo. She was not afraid of the animals at all, but just ran around trying to touch them all nicely. Conner mostly wanted to walk around, as he is getting very close to having the nerve to do it on his own.
