Not that Lexi hasn't puzzled us before, but recently she picked up this puzzle at my mom's house which really has us stumped. We haven't been working on the alphabet at all, but within doing this puzzle 2 times, she had mastered where the letters belong. We know she doesn't know her alphabet (at least with a non-talker, we don't think so), the letters aren't the same color, it is uppercase and lowercase, and the pictures with the letters aren't the same. Yet, she seems to nail the right letter matches about 95% of the time. We are absolutely perplexed on how she is doing it.
The kids and I went to a birthday party for one of the kids that spent time in the NICU with Lexi. Gavin had all sorts of fun things at the party, including a fire truck, a bounce h
ouse, and his own car. Lexi was all over the bounce house and car and didn't want to get out of either. The only way I convinced her to get out was to bribe her with food and cupcakes. We also saw another NICU grad there...it's amazing how far these kiddos have come in three years!
