Girl Scout Cookies

Alexis is selling Girl Scout cookies for the first time. This goes against both Brian and my natural instincts. We are not sales people, and we hate asking people for things. We originally let Alexis call her aunts and grandmas only. Then, we decided she could branch out a little with a couple of really nice neighbors and a couple of people we have bought from in the past. We figured people do like those cookies, and it would be really good for her development to both use her speech and get comfortable talking to people. We practiced her lines several times and even wrote it down, so she had the visual. So, we did four houses, and although it took a little warming up at each, she did a great job with her words, "I'm Alexis. I'm selling Girl Scout cookies. Do you want some?" I pushed my comfort zone tonight to allow her a little growth, which was hard for me, but good for her. I'm also glad we have great neighbors!

Normal Week

We had Emma and her family over for dinner tonight. This is our biggest news in the last week, and that feels really good. We haven't seen the oncologist, had to take any chemo, and Alexis has been at school. Just living a normal life, which feels good for a week.

I can't hear you

Gavin's new trick is to plug his ear and say,  "I can't hear you" as loud as he can. Better than the phase where he covered his eyes, said he couldn't see, and would run into everything....until today. I showed up at the end of preschool, and he was doing that to his teacher. She thought it was funny, but as I saw a couple kids copying him, I'm not certain the other parents are going to think it is funny. I'm waiting for the hate texts now...

Although I do think he is on to something. I should probably practice this more often when I'm being yelled at by the kids!
