Hawkeye Pride
The kids are really starting to get into sports since dad loves them so much (ok, Alexis likes dressing up in the team clothes, Conner likes about 10 min of the game, and Gavin goes along with his older siblings), but they are showing some interest. Today, we got out all the Iowa gear and put it on to try and bring Iowa luck to stay undefeated. They were able to bring home Floyd and stay 10-0, and are ranked 5th in the country. So, knowing dad, he will probably have them in these clothes for the remaining two games.

Lunch
Conner and I got to eat lunch with Alexis at school today. We picked up a couple of happy meals and headed to her school. Conner was excited to see where he would be going to school next year. Alexis was excited to see us. However, she got right down to eating and left the talking to the other kids at our table (and next to our table.) If I learned nothing else, I learned there are a lot of talkers in her class. Her teacher was also really complementary about her behavior recently. Such a fun visit.

Safety House
Alexis had a Girl Scout event at the Safety House. It is a fire station where they train kids what to do in an emergency. They talk about family plans, show them how to use an extinguisher, and how to check doors for heat and go out a window if so. All three kids got to go, and they had a great time, esp at the end when they get to climb on the vehicles and try on firefighter gear.
