Lexi started a Mother's Day Out program today. She goes for 3 hours a day once a week. We thought it would be good to get her some interaction with kids and give me a break, so all my work didn't have to be done at night. Plus, if I need to get a haircut or have a doctor appt., I can do so without Lexi tagging along. I dropped Lexi off, and neither of us cried when I left. When I returned to pick her up, she had fallen asleep, but they said she really enjoyed the activities and interacting with the other kids. Mrs. Dina, her teacher, said she was so great, and we should feel free to bring her every day! I took that as a sign that things went well and this was a good idea.

"Bunch and Laura"
Our friends Jeff and Brandy and their two sons Collin and Derrek came for a visit this weekend. Lexi really likes having other kids around, so she immensely enjoyed the weekend. We've enjoyed the fun and confusion that comes with having a 3-year-old around, as it gives us another sneak preview of what's to come with our little girl. When they arrived Friday night, Derrek kept calling our dog "Baby Lexi," as he was promised he was going to St.
Louis to play with her, and the real Lexi was already in bed for the night. Then, he was asked whose house he had come to, and he correctly responded, "Bunch and Laura's." Then, he was asked who is this guy? He said "Bunch." Correct again. Then, he was asked who is this girl? He said "Bunch and Laura." Whenever Derrek wants my attention or says anything, he continues to call me "Bunch and Laura," and seriously thinks that's my name, despite his parents repeated attempts to tell him it is actually only "Laura."We hope Lexi can learn to say Bunch, or Laura, or even Mom or Dad here soon, as we are excited to see these kind of mistakes that come with the learning process. Bunch and Laura took the crew to the zoo, and then on to the Arch later in the day, and aside from a few rain showers, we had a great weekend.
