Lexi and Conner have been enjoying their Easter candy. Their favorite so far was the marshmallow Mickey Mouse and the jelly beans! We have been working on eating them in moderation, but it is fun to hear both of them say "more"...a new word for both!

Hearing Aid Success
Lexi has her new "headband", ie hearing aid. We thought our biggest battle was going to be trying to figure out how to convince a three year old to keep a hearing aid on, but so far she has done a fabulous job. We haven't seen any huge differences, since her hearing wasn't really bad, but her speech pathologist at school thought Lexi was able to replicate more sounds when she saw her, so we'll hope she is right. We think we'll hopefully see more of an improvement with language over time.
Our biggest battle, instead, has become the cost of the hearing aid. Most insurance companies, including our, do not cover hearing aids...period. Doesn't matter how old you are, what the reasons are, they won't cover them. The cost of Lexi's hearing aid is $4,800. So, we are now starting down the process of fighting insurance (which has become our second job since Lexi has so many medical needs). At least she is keeping the head band on, so it is only one battle we are fighting!
