Soccer Close

Conner had his last soccer game today. Although he went without scoring a goal all season, which he was disappointed about, he did learn to go after the ball and kick it a few times. Our goal for next year will be to get him to kick the ball even if someone else has it. He takes the rule "don't take things from others" a little too seriously!

His favorite part of the day was the end of the game where he got a medal.

Nurse Turkey

Alexis brought home an assignment from school to disguise the turkey as someone else, so it didn't get eaten on Halloween. I suggested all sorts of ideas like a mermaid, giraffe, or scuba diver. However, as always, Alexis had ideas of her own. After trying to decide whether she wanted to do Cece her doctor or Brittany her nurse, she finally decided the nurse. So, we went about thinking how we could create scrubs, a name tag, hair, and we finished it off with a stethoscope. In the end, Alexis was pretty proud of her turkey, and I was excited that she likes her doctors and nurses that much!

As simple as, do re mi A B C, 1 2 3

Although he hasn't learned do, re, mi, Gavin is learning to say his ABC and his 1,2,3. He can say the entire alphabet and count to ten on his own. At least not everything is going by the wayside with him with our current life!

Stack of Cards

At Alexis's cousin Avery's school (a private school), her class nominates people who need prayers. The class then votes on who they want to pray for that week and make them cards to send to them. Avery really wanted her class to pray for Alexis and make her cards. So, she started planning her strategy weeks ago. She knew that her friend was going to be the star student coming up (that's who gets to pick people to nominate), so she started campaigning with him that she wanted to be chosen. Then, after that occurred launched an all out convincing of people that Avery's prayer was the one that needed to be chosen. Well, the little politician was successful, so this week, we received a stack of cards in the mail from Avery's classmates. They were the cutest cards with get well wishes and pictures, and even a pop up card. When Alexis opened them, she said, "This one has my name on it!!" She looks down and grabs a second, "And this one too!! And this one!" grabbing a third. She was so excited to see so many cards with her name on it. So, this 5th grade class made one little girl feel so special, and we have an extra 20+ kids prayer for Alexis this week, since her name is on their prayer board. Such a neat thing they do, and so great that Avery took it upon herself to campaign for Alexis to allow this to happen. Kids really do have large hearts!
