Wedding Fun

Brian's cousin got married this weekend, so we headed to the festivities. The kids got to swim a little in Papa and Mimi's hotel and had a blast. We then spent the weekend getting to know new cousins and playing with some we hadn't seen in a long time. The kids had fun, esp riding bikes, since we live on a hill and our exposure is limited. Besides the 10 hour car ride one way, it was a great weekend.

Katie-Do

Gavin's teacher's daughter has been putting together packages for kids with cancer and delivering them to the hospital every month. Alexis had never received one (I think because we have been lucky not to be in there as much as we could have), so she presented one to her this morning at drop off. Such a sweet little 11-year-old girl to do this. We had heard about her, but didn't know her personally until now. Such a great family!

Pedal take 2 and Birthday Bounce

This morning was the time for the adults to ride their bikes for Pedal the Cause. We made it out there by 6:45am to see Boris depart for his 100 mile ride. What a feat. The kids were excited to see him, and he kept telling Alexis that she was his inspiration, and he would be thinking about how she fought when he was trying to get through all those miles.

We spent the morning sending different groups off on their bikes and walking around talking to people. We met the President of Children's and talked to her for a while. We thanked her for all she has done for families, praising the garden, the staff, our amazing Oncology doctor, etc. It really is a great place, and they have done everything to try and make it better for families who are stuck there.

We then left there and ran home to get the boys' birthday cake before heading out to their birthday party. They wanted it at the bounce house place, and they had about 20 friends join them. They had a great time. The boys wanted a Cubs theme, so we had a cake as well as Cubs napkins. We had a couple kids refuse to use a Cubs napkin, but in general the STL community rolled with it! It was a great birthday party!
