Picnic Time

Our friends and their two kids came over for dinner tonight. We hauled in the picnic table for the kids to eat at, and NJ and Lexi enjoyed hanging out there. NJ actually switched sides to sit next to Lexi, but soon realized that maybe wasn't the best idea when Lexi tried to take NJ's oranges!

Heather also brought popsicles for the kids. Lexi wouldn't even get up enough nerve to try it, so she just played with sticking the stick down the middle of the picnic table. We'll have to continue to work up to these cold summer treats!

My Gym Disaster

Lexi's friend Parker invited us to join them at My Gym, where there is a combination of free time play and circle time. Lexi enjoyed the free time and the time in the ball pit. However, she wasn't a fan of sitting in the circle, esp. when mom made her. She pretty much screamed the entire time. Having a determined child is great in some aspects, but when it comes to activities like these, it doesn't make for a fun day for either of us.

So, we won't be joining them again at My Gym for a little while until Lexi has a better understanding of listening and circle time. Luckily, they claim no issues with circle time at school, so we'll hope this lesson comes quickly!

New Pool

We finally blew up Lexi's pool that she got for her birthday and gave her a little play time. She enjoyed splashing in the water, going down the slide, and putting the rings on the rainbow. Dad really enjoyed playing basketball, which will come to no surprise to those that know him. It was a great afternoon soaking up some sun and fun!
