Pumpkin Patch

We went to a pumpkin patch today to let Lexi pick out her first pumpkin. We scoured all the pumpkins and picked out the 3 best in the patch (sorry Charley Brown). We then went on a hay rack ride through the corn and vegetable fields. As we rode, I couldn't help but think of a year ago when we were forced to stay inside and not experience things like pumpkin patches. It's so nice to be where we are today with a happy, healthy little girl enjoying the fall season and looking forward to Halloween!

Boo Boo

Lexi had her first fall today, but we think we avoided any major boo boos. When I shower, I normally put her in her exercauser, as it contains her for the 15 minutes I'm in there, and the doctor has given clearance for that up to 20 minutes a day. Today was the same as any other, until the end of my shower. I heard her scream all of a sudden in a way that wasn't just whining. So, I quickly turned off the water, didn't even dry off, and ran to peek around the corner. Sure enough, she was in trouble. She somehow had catapulted herself out of the exercauser, so she was lying with her head on the ground, arms propping her up, and her leg suspended in the air stuck in the seat. I rushed over and picked her up, as she was screaming at the top of her lungs. I checked her over, and there were no red marks on her head. I then played with her hips to make certain they hadn't been damaged in the process, and I think we are good. After some cuddle time, she finally relaxed, and was off crawling, standing, and playing. So, I decided she was fine, and we headed to Mom's Day Out. We avoided our first major fall with no boo boos.

Fun Fall Weekend

Lexi's Minnesota cousins came to visit this weekend. A year ago, they announced the football schedule, and since our lives tend to revolve around sports, Brian's cousins decided to come down to St. Louis for the Vikings/Rams game this weekend. So, Friday afternoon we went to the City Museum downtown. Ciera and I had a great time crawling through the tunnels, and Ciera also took Lexi on the train at the museum, which both loved!

Kelsey and I crawled through the airplanes outside, and he got stuck, so we provided entertainment for not only the kids, but the adults who stopped to watch him work out of his predicament.
Saturday we took the kids to the zoo. The zoo was decorated for Halloween, and we made it around most of the zoo to see all the animals. Sunday, the boys went to the football game while the kids played at home and caught up on some much needed sleep. Lexi enjoyed all the commotion in the house, as always. Today she has been home from the hospital for exactly one year, and it is so nice to be able to be out and about enjoying wonderful weather and family. We are so blessed to have her in our lives.
